Ok, I can't help but think I'm doing something wrong here... I put in the addy and no matter what I put in it goes directly to the "JOIN" page. I have to put in the correct addy again to get to the website. And once I'm here my login info doesn't work, I have to use the member name and number thing, and then my new life member number doesn't work.

And once I'm here I can't get anyplace fast... it takes forever to get my account page to load and gawd forbid I want to make a payment because that page is yet to ever load for me... So what am I doing wrong here?

And by the way, I'm Becky... new member. Thanks for any help I can get.

Hi and welcome to the BB.  You should post your question in a forum  where it will be seen.   This forum is a feedback forum so most won't see it.  Try Flowers, Misc. Gardening,  or Shrubs/Trees.  Surely someone in any of the three could give you some info.  My first thought it to pull it out.

Our technology department has updated the website and forum software, as you have already noticed, and hosted everything on faster servers with more capacity.

We realize that the time you've invested in posting and exchanging ideas with other members is the value of this community and that you've grown comfortable with the interface. We trust the improved performance and added features will outweigh the inconvenience.

Please note: There are some known issues that you may experience for the next week or so. The big ones will be

Post Counts:
a few people experience post counts smaller than they actually have. This is from a known issue from migrating databases and will be fixed. Your total post counts aren't lost.

Private Messaging: PM'ing is currently down with our initial change over to the new system.

Username / Password: Some members may have to log in to their account with their member number and last name initially, then use a username and password once they have set them up in the new system.

Over the next few days you will find help on using the new features in a discussion area called "Using the Forums" at the bottom of the forums list. You can also make test posts and report problems you're having in the bugs area there.

Thanks!

Wes

You only have a small window for editing.  It is something like 30 minutes to an hour or so.  After that the post is in stone.

Betty is right. You have 30 minutes of edit time. So get your ducks in a row before you post.

Sorry, but Wood Wizard nor I have the authority or the capability to edit posts for members.  When they set this format up, it was set up for the option to edit a given post to be available only for the time period already mentioned.  You will just have to figure something out.

Betty,

Thanks again for replying back!  ...   If that is the way they have set-up the New Forums; to be Posted, and Edited...Well it seems to be a Down Grade; in the Forums/Apposed to a "New Forum Upgrade"! ... I sure hope the Webmasters View my Posts, Reply-back, and Re-Add the Edit Feature; to the NHGC Forums! ... For this certainly takes away the Members availability; to participate, in "The Many Wonderful Options / Features...that this Club had/has to offer"! ... I will simply have to Wait, and See what they can do; to Fix these Problems. ...

That 30 minute time period was set that way for a reason.
The main reason being, if someone posts a derogatory or flaming message about someone or something and the message is reported, the user cannot remove the message and claim innocence. The message will be there for admins to see and reprimand the user as necessary. Not that that has happened. But originally the powers to be didn't want any edit option, so we got a little at least.

Good Evening Wood Wizard,

I don't get into that sort of thing, I just Like to Play in the Dirt; and Garden! ... If a Member is Posting something that is inappropriate...then they need to Simply take appropriate measures, and notify "That said Member"..."Not Restrict the Whole Club"; from being Happy Gardner's, etc! ...  I am still waiting for the Webmasters; to Reply-back, and Help to Fix the Robin forums, and the other Posting / Editing / Etc Issues! ...  You Have a Good Evening Tonight! ...
